Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is banned. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; although, investment sources are vague. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship casino, contains one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that features many comforts on top of the casino, which contains 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight table games.
